Alpine Flower Hunt: Saturday 22nd January 2011
Trip Report
Saturday the 22 January saw an intrepid group of about 15 meet at Springfield where Nick outlined the
plans for the day. We moved off in convoy and proceeded up to Mt Cheeseman, stopping at the first
gate where some cars were left, and then on up to the ski club buildings. It was a very overcast day
with drizzle a lot of the time but this did not deter most of the group as they scrambled up the scree
track, some right to the top of the ski lifts. The clouds lifted or shifted from time to time and the resulting
views were spectacular. As usual it was great to be out with a group of like minded people doing
what we love to do and hopefully you will see the results on club night. Field trips are certainly a great
way to get to know fellow club members.
